A fieldwork-based sociological study of Dom communities in Egypt, examining how identities are constructed and negotiated in relation to the wider Egyptian society. Parrs addresses social boundaries, marginalization, and representations of the Dom in scholarship and popular media, making the book particularly valuable for extending the study of Romani-related communities beyond the predominantly European framework.
