Roma élet képekben az 1950-es években (Fotóalbum)
Curatorial Note
Published by the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Archives of the Hungarian National Archives, this photographic volume documents Roma life in eastern Hungary during the 1950s. Drawing on archival photographs and historical contextualization, it provides a visual record of housing conditions, everyday life, state surveys, and official approaches toward Roma communities during the early socialist period. The volume is particularly significant for the study of how Roma populations were simultaneously documented, categorized, and subjected to state-directed programmes of social transformation in post-war Hungary. Its archival photographic material makes it an important primary-source collection for the social and visual history of Hungarian Roma communities.
