Című fordításkötetének eredeti cigány szövegei
Curatorial Note
Published as a companion source edition to Károly Bari’s Tűzpiros kígyócska: Cigány népköltészet, this volume presents the original Romani-language texts underlying Bari’s Hungarian translations of Romani oral poetry collected in Hungary and Transylvania. Bari selected, translated, and introduced the material, preserving the source texts in a transcription based largely on Hungarian orthographic conventions. Published by the Gödöllői Művelődési Központ in 1985, the volume is particularly significant as a primary linguistic and folkloric source, allowing the translated poems to be studied alongside their Romani originals and documenting forms of oral literature that might otherwise have remained accessible principally through translation.
